2024 | 2025 - Pocket mirrors in limited editions

After an initial collaboration to create candle bases and covers, Diptyque called on Boutures to create a bespoke pocket mirror in reclaimed shell terrazzo!

A small, precious and technically challenging nomadic object: creating a precise assembly of the various handcrafted elements.

The 1st edition of this mirror is available in white and mussel shells with various reflections, in a limited edition. The finely engraved logo blends in with the shell fragments, revealed by meticulous sanding.

For this project, we worked from the customer's design and carried out the following steps:

Design and development :
- Material recommendations
- Sourcing of brass and mirror screws
- Adaptation of original design, 3d design of parts
- Prototyping, definition of quality levels and inspection methods

Manufacture :

- Planning and follow-up with various manufacturers (mirror cutting, shell molding, gluing, assembly, mirror and screw gluing, packaging).

A lovely collaboration that is renewed in 2025 with a new, originaledition....Oyster shellsand black-tinted base, the engraved logo is filled in to better reveal itself!
