Cap design for La Petite Madeleine eaux de parfums.
After researching concepts for perfume caps combining luxury, lightness and biodegradability... (perfume packaging project), Guillaume, the founder of La Petite Madeleine, became interested in these ideas for his new line of perfumes, which he wanted to be local, eco-designed, natural and well thought-out, without sacrificing the aesthetics of a beautiful object.
Together with Louise Rué and La Petite Madeleine, we eco-designed the packaging, choosing a soft, lightweight glass bottle and imagining a cork stopper overmolded with a biomaterial pebble in the shape of the brand's logo.
This pebble is a biocomposite of scallop shells, an original material devised and perfected by Hors studio from various powdered shell aggregates and biodegradable binders (gelatin-based recipe).
The Hors Studio team also makes the corks by hand at Transfaire la Manufacture.
Today, La Petite Madeleine is an exception in the perfume industry, daring to propose a biodegradable cap where most brands rely on complex metal and plastic assemblies that are not at all recyclable.
Creating connections between luxury, design, innovative materials and passionate, committed people is what drives us at Boutures, and we're delighted to have been part of this exciting launch!
