the thermocompression recycling process: offcuts, industrial or household waste is sorted by thermoplastic type and color, then transformed into flakes or granules of various sizes, and finally fused by thermocompression - the result is panels of various formats and thicknesses.
No resin is added, so single-material panels are recyclable.
Driven by the Precious Plastic initiative, this new low-tech vision of plastic recycling has been developing and industrializing over the past few years: a number of manufacturers have specialized in this field, increasing their production capacity and panel formats. At the same time, smaller workshops are taking other approaches: artistic productions, awareness-raising and local involvement, or R&D to process smaller deposits...
Recycled plastic sheets can be cut, milled or thermoformed, and are mainly used to manufacture furniture and interior fittings. This extends the life of these inherently durable materials...
